Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef (flank steak or sirloin), sliced thinly
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil, garlic, and ginger. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
  5. Return the beef to the skillet, add the beef broth, and stir everything together. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes or sliced chili peppers.
  • Make sure not to overcook the broccoli to retain its crunch.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or carrots.
