  • 0.5 cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch

  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Melted Butter


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine the flour, granulated sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Cut in the cold unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the egg and ice water to the flour mixture; stir until the dough forms.
  5. Divide the dough in half, shape into disks, and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  6. Peel and slice the apples, placing them in a large bowl.
  7. Mix in the brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt until the apples are evenly coated.
  8. Roll out one disk of dough on a floured surface to fit your baking dish.
  9. Place the rolled dough into the dish, pressing it gently to the edges.
  10. Pour the apple mixture onto the crust, ensuring an even distribution.
  11. Roll out the second disk of dough and place it over the apples.
  12. Seal the edges by crimping with a fork.
  13. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
  14. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  15. Let cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
  16. Combine powdered sugar and milk in a small bowl to create a glaze. Drizzle over the slices just before serving.
