Description

Deliciously fluffy baked apple fritters that are easy to make and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and granulated sugar.
  3. In another bowl, mix the milk, applesauce, and egg until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the diced apples gently.
  6. Scoop the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, forming fritters.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • For a healthier option, you can substitute whole wheat flour for all-purpose flour.
  • Feel free to add raisins or nuts for extra flavor and texture.
