- 4–5 lbs pork shoulder
- 2 cups apple cider
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon rosemary
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the apple cider, brown sugar, salt, pepper, thyme, and rosemary.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the pork shoulder with salt and pepper, then sear it in the skillet until browned on all sides.
- Transfer the pork shoulder to a roasting pan and pour the apple cider mixture over it.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic around the pork.
- Cover the roasting pan with foil and place it in the oven.
- Cook for 4-5 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
