Description

Deliciously flaky and sweet, these almond croissant cinnamon rolls combine the best of both worlds for a delightful treat.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup almond paste
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for icing)


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, almond flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, egg, and vanilla to the dry ingredients; mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth, then let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread almond paste evenly over it.
  6. Sprinkle sliced almonds and cinnamon on top of the almond paste.
  7. Roll the dough tightly and slice into rolls.
  8. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly, then drizzle with icing made from powdered sugar and a little water.
